Gaya Berkomunikasi Asertif Untuk Menciptakan Atmosfer Positif Dalam Pembelajaran Speaking Dengan Metode Diskusi di SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Padang

At SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Padang, in principle the teachers have drilled their students' speaking abilities, but teachers still get different students’ attitudes toward speaking when some students tend to be passive and the others behave aggressively or just talk without considering the acceptability of their communication style or content so that speaking practice does not go well. Therefore, the aim of this community service activity is to train students' ability to communicate assertively using group discussion learning method on speaking lesson topics by utilizing videos as the form of IT-based learning. With assertive English communication skill, students eager to speak actively because their opinions will be respected and listened to and they will learn to make decisions in group discussions based on the principle of togetherness without imposing the opinions of certain friends. It is hoped that this learning method will change students’ attitudes in communicating where they are motivated to speak with good self-confidence and courage so that it can create a positive atmosphere in speaking activity.

Dedikasi untuk Negeri melalui Program Sekolah Penggerak (PSP) Angkatan 3 Tahun Pertama Kabupaten Malang: Komunitas Belajar 1

The School Movement Program (PSP) provides an opportunity for schools to receive assistance from School Movement Facilitators (FSP) regarding the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum (IKM). Through this PSP program, facilitators provide PSP assistance, one of which is through workshops. One of the themes of the PSP workshop activities is Learning Community 1. Therefore, the purpose of this community service activity is for participants to have the ability to build a sustainable culture of shared learning through learning communities, which has an impact on improving student learning outcomes. Participants in the workshop consisted of various elements, namely school supervisors, principals, and 2 (two) representatives of the Learning Committee (KP) teachers. This workshop took place at SMP Negeri 1 Kepanjen, Malang Regency, and was attended by 38 participants. By using the MERRDEKA flow method (Starting from yourself, Concept exploration, Collaboration space, Guided reflection, Contextual demonstration, Elaboration of understanding, Connections between materials, and Real Action), participants can start building a sustainable culture of shared learning through learning communities.

Pengenalan Media Bahasa Inggris Bagi Guru Tk Jefelind Kids Kota Padang

Pengabdian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan Guru-guru di TK JEFLIND Padang terkait dengan bagaimana menciptakan pembelajaran yang menarik dan sesuai dengan kaidah pengajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk anak usia dini. Selain itu, alasan lain yang melatarbelakangi kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah kebanyakan dari guru-guru yang mengajar di Taman Kanak-kanak untuk bidang studi Bahasa Inggris banyak yang tidak lulusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, atau kadang berasal dari jurusan Bahasa Inggris namun masih minim pengetahuan tentang mengajar Bahasa Inggris bagi anak usia dini. Oleh karena itu, tim dosen Prodi Pendidikan Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat memberikan pelatihan khususnya bagi guru-guru TK JEFLIND dengan mengadakan pengabdian tentang media penagajaran yang cocok untuk mengajar anak usia dini dan cara menggunakannya. Adapun media yang diperkenalkan diantaranya boneka jari, gambar, flash cards, real objects dan video-video pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris bagi anak usia dini. Proses pelatihan berlangsung 1 hari dan juga dipraktekan langsung oleh guru TK JEFLIND yang bertindak sebagai siswa. Adapun respon guru sangat antusias dengan pelatihan ini dan mereka berharap tema-tema pengabdian lain yang dapat mendukung pengajaran Bahasa Inggris dapat dilaksanakan disekolah mereka.

Pelatihan Pembuatan Media Pembelajaran Berbasis AI (Chatbot) Untuk Meningkatkan Kompetensi Pendidik

During the pandemic, people are required to use technology to carry out all activities. This also applies to educators. Educators are required to master in technology, especially in terms of creating leaning media. At this time, Artificial intelligent is very popular, one of them is Chatbot. Chatbot is a computer program that is used to communicate and interact like humans via internet. The aim of this service activity is to increase educators’ competency in terms of technology, to increase educators' knowledge about AI technology-based learning media (chatbot) material, to equip educators with skills to be able to create and create AI technology-based learning media (chatbot). The approach method for this service activity is in the form of training via Zoom, Google Meet and WhatsApp groups. The result of this activity is that participants can create their own AI Chatbot computer program with the theme desired by the participants
