Abstract

Biogas is a renewable energy source that can be produced through an anaerobic fermentation process from organic materials, such as cow dung. This study aims: to describe the process of making biogas from cow dung as an effort to utilize organic waste as an alternative energy source that is environmentally friendly. Methods: used in this study included Quality Function Deployment (QFD) collecting cow dung, preparing the substrate, and constructing a biogas digester. Urgency: The use of biogas from cow dung has a significant urgency because it has various important benefits covering environmental, economic and social aspects. The main target is to produce biogas as a renewable energy source from cow manure waste. Cow manure is collected from farms through various stages of preparation, such as drying and solid-liquid separation. The novelty of this work program is that it is used more efficiently than other biogas. Furthermore, the processed cow dung is used as a raw material in the anaerobic fermentation process in the biogas digester. During the fermentation process, anaerobic microorganisms naturally decompose organic matter in cow dung, resulting: biogas consisting of methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Conclusion: The resulting biogas can be used as an energy source for cooking, lighting, or even producing energi  when used cooking.
